TJX chose Wagon Builders™ because it’s a charity they believe in. That made their team-building activities all that more meaningful… and fun!
The corporate headquarters of TJX are in Marlborough, Massachusetts. We joined an international team of TJX lawyers, paralegals and other employees this summer for a Abby’s House Charity Team Building Workshop. Here’s how it went.
TJX Legal Professionals Show Amazing Creativity in Team Building
We see a lot of groups come through our doors (or in most cases we go through theirs, as workshops are often held onsite!). One thing we’ve learned through experience is that creativity is one of the best assets a team can have. Expertise is great, of course, but creativity will get you through just about anything.
We put up plenty of fun obstacles for participants in our workshops. For example, teams aren’t just handed their wagon parts for assembly and told to “get to it”. They earn those parts and tools through fun, collaborative challenges that encourage all sorts of team building skills.
The legal teams from TJX demonstrated that they’re not only a cracker jack group of legal professionals… they’re pretty creative as well!
Wagons Went to Abby’s House
All the charitable organizations we work with are fun, appreciative, and helpful. We love their assistance with the donation ceremony we plan for each charity workshop. It’s always an important part of these workshops, since it allows the workshop participants to meet the kids or families they’ve been working for during the past few hours.
Abby’s House benefits women and children who need shelter, housing, or advocacy in the Worcester, MA area. TJX also has offices in Framingham, which is closer to Worcester than their Marlborough offices.
But it doesn’t matter where a charity is located, as long as their mission matches yours, and they benefit a community in which you have a stake. Abby’s House and TJX have a community relationship that embodies their commitment to the neighborhood in which they both work.
TJX, Helping Women and Families
Did you know TJX is the parent company of TJMaxx? And that they first opened their doors almost a century ago as a women’s hosiery business? Now, almost a hundred years later, they’re still serving women and their families by offering affordable, high-quality clothing and home goods for families all over the country. They actually operate in 9 countries and 3 continents!
So it’s easy to see the appropriateness of helping out a charitable organization like Abby’s House. We’re all in the business of making the world a better place- well done, guys!
