The last item on the agenda often gets the least amount of attention. Now consider a grueling 2-day meeting and you can imagine how much energy people might have for the last item on the list.
Not so with the Lincoln Property Group! That’s because the last item on the agenda for them was the Wheelcharity™ Team Building Workshop! They saved a lot of energy for this event, surprising everyone involved.
Their charity: Wheels for the World
Perhaps it was the idea of working to benefit others which gave the group its burst of energy. We wouldn’t be surprised, since we see it all the time in our charity team building workshops. In this case, the benefactor was an organization called “Wheels for the World“, which takes care of making sure the wheelchairs assembled by the group fall into the right hands, where they’re needed.
Lincoln Property Group shows amazing focus on teamwork.
Just think how you’d feel: it’s the end of a long two days of meetings. It’s a beautiful Fall day in October. It’s Friday night! You’d think everyone would be ready to head home, but not this one.
They were ready to laugh, work hard, and compete against each other all the while benefiting a wonderful charity.
Activities include a scavenger hunt customized for the client.
There were several icebreakers, including Air Counting and Say What I Say, both of which serve double duty: warming everyone up plus testing communication skills.
Our Commercials activity is always a hit, and builds on the camaraderie developed during the icebreakers by requiring communication and collaboration at slightly higher levels.
The Personal Scavenger Hunt builds even further, having participants draw on even more advanced skills. Of course it’s a lot of fun, too. We love to weave in trivia from the client for this activity. For example, one question was “What year was the Lincoln Property Company formed?”
Participants also have to extract information from each other for the Personal Scavenger Hunt, and most of the questions involve puzzles. We get into some creative problem solving on this one!
Finally, the Wheel Chair Build rounded out the workshop and served as the capstone event of the evening.
The final takeaway.
Wheels for the World is a wonderful charity that cares for the physically challenged throughout the world. Lincoln is a very successful company, but doesn’t keep all of their success to themselves and this Magnovo event is a great example of giving back.
