Companies like the Ohio Credit Union League choose our charity team building workshops because they’re all about giving back. When they choose to donate to organizations like Nationwide Children’s Hospital, they’re giving back in more ways than one.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital
That’s because the NCH not only helps children from all over the country (and in some cases the world), but they also give back in their own ways, too. Aside from giving the very best of medical care to children who need it most, Nationwide Children’s also supports their community in countless ways.
Case in point: they’ve invested over $97 million in charity care and community benefit programs alone! They also partner with educational institutions in the community to keep kids healthy, both physically and mentally.
Giving to Nationwide Children’s means helping kids in every community, since kids from all over the world are patients there. That’s why our Rescue Buddies™ stuffed animal workshop was the perfect choice for the OCUL.
Rescue Buddies™ is for kids everywhere, too.
We’re proud of our Rescue Buddies™ workshop, which has participants assembling stuffed bears that eventually get donated to organizations who give them to kids. Whether it’s for first responders who use the toys to comfort kids in distress or to hospitals like Children’s National, these Buddies all go on to perform great service for kids everywhere.
In the case of our OCUL group’s donations, the bears they built would go directly to kids who were patients in the hospital… of course they need comforting too. And with more than 1.2 million patient visits, this hospital could use a few extra bears to help spread the healing!
How the group did with their hands-on activities.
Our charity workshops get everyone focused on performing fun yet slightly challenging activities that result in strengthening of teamwork skills. Whether it’s better communication or learning how to collaborate better, we design all our interactive modules around building important teamwork skills.
The OCUL group passed in flying colors, and were able to earn their stuffed animal parts with ease- teamwork must be a breeze for them, which is commendable. This group was comprised of members who travel a lot for their jobs, and although each was from the same OCUL location, they were from all different departments.
That often means barriers to communication but not this group and not this day! The workshop began just after a company-wide staff update, and then we got right into things with some icebreakers.
After some hands-on activities it was time to start earning parts. Communication skills came in handy on these activities, and the group did a great job.
Everyone was highly motivated to complete their bears, and of course knowing the bears would go to Nationwide Children’s Hospital made everyone work just a little harder- after all, NCH is an important part of the Columbus, Ohio community as well as a national leader in children’s health. Good job, guys!
