Our charity team building workshops produce all kinds of donations for charities all over the country. From bikes to little red wagons, we donate to kids, families, vets, and more.
This time we helped out girls in the community surrounding Indiana University- thanks to Octagon, who helps Delta Airlines with University partnerships nationwide. The charity was Girls, Inc and we were proud to help our fellow Hoosiers in their community.
It was all part of “The Little 500”
These college students were raising money for their college- how’s that for taking matters into your own hands? Students rode bikes in the Little 500, raising money for the college. It was set up through Octagon, who works in conjunction with Delta Airlines at Universities on community projects like this.
Fostering a Sense of Community
Everyone pitched in to build the bicycles, and there was a wonderful sense of collaboration and giving in the air. That’s how communities are built! The bike assembly session itself was extremely valuable to all those who participated because it fostered a sense of community and working together towards a great cause.
It was exactly what Delta and Octagon had in mind when they set everything up and enlisted us to facilitate the event! The whole story behind building bicycles actually reinforced Delta’s pillar of thoughtfulness.
The best part was that so many from the Indiana University and Delta communities got together to make it all happen!
Bikes Went to Girls, Inc.
Girls, Inc. is an international association dedicated to inspiring girls in the United States and Canada to be their best. They inspire more than 140,000 girls to be strong and smart by providing mentoring in a supportive, girls-only environment. They set goals, learn new skills, overcome obstacles, and work together in hands-on activities that bring everything alive.
Sounds like one of our team building workshops!
In addition to providing programs for girls, Girls, Inc. maintains a national research center, advocates for girls’ issues both locally and nationally, and helps to educate the media about issues that today’s girls face in their everyday lives.
We were so proud to get to know about Girls, Inc. We have a regular set of organizations we work with on a regular basis for our charity team building workshops, but it’s always exciting to learn of new ways we can bring positive change to the world.
