Allianz Life is a life insurance company focusing on annuities and life insurance for retirement. Based out of Minneapolis, they’re highly successful at what they do. Part of what they do is give back in lots of different ways!
We were proud to be a part of Allianz Life’s gigantic and far-reaching employee giving program. One day this winter we did a Bike-A-Thon™ workshop with them and it fit right in with their company’s social mission.
The way Allianz Life gives back is very forward-thinking.
Like many companies who are re-thinking their corporate giving programs, Allianz Life is finding out that involving their employees in giving is a great way to get everyone on board with the company vision.
When everyone gets involved with community giving, it means so much more than just writing a check or simply providing financial support.
When employees actually take time out of their days to assemble bicycles, prepare food pantry items, or put together care packages for local kids, families, or even our far-flung military stationed overseas, they’re putting their heart into the company giving program.
Allianz Life’s employee giving program is something to behold!
Our Bike-A-Thon™ team building workshop was only a small part of Allianz Life’s entire, year-long corporate giving program. In addition to the bicycles they assembled and donated with us, they also donated the following in 2015:
- more than 24,000 pounds of food to Twin Cities area shelters
- more than 22,000 pounds of clothing to area shelters
more than 3,600 toys…including the bicycles they donated through the Bike-A-Thon™ workshop
They also donate cash to Toys for Tots through their annual drive, plus cash to Second Harvest Heartland as well. The bicycles from our workshop will be donated to Twin Cities kids through Toys for Tots.

Allianz Life has a regular, ongoing partnership with both Toys for Tots and with Second Harvest Heartland. These year-round initiatives plus others we haven’t even mentioned here work well with those charitable organizations, so the partnership is a good one.
When companies come to us for booking charity team building workshops, we usually set everything up with the charitable organization.
However, for a company like Allianz Life, who has their preferred charity, we can work with that, too!
